- 1.5 ltr Milk
- 1/2 cup curd / 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup semolina/ sooji
- 1/4 cup mix nuts ( almonds, cashews, raisins
- 2 tbsp desi ghee
- 1/2 cardamom powder
- 1 cup salt for baking in kadhai/ cooker
Steps to make Chena Poda - Odia Burnt Cheese Cake
- Take milk in a deep vessel and bring it to a boil.

- When milk starts boiling, add juice of one lemon mixed with 2 tbsp water / 1/2 cup dahi in parts to the milk and keep stirring.

- After a few minutes of stirring, milk will start curdling.


- Strain the mixture and take chena (paneer) in a separate bowl. Don't squeeze all the water out.



- Add sugar, semolina in the mixture and give it a thorough mix



- Now add 1 tbsp desi ghee,nuts, cardamon powder. Add some whey if the mixture is dry and mix till everything is combined well.



- In a deep kadhai/ cooker put salt and let it heat for 10 minutes

- Grease a cake tin/ any steel container and pour the chena mixture in it.

- After preheating the kadhai, put a stand and pur container over it. Cover and let it bake for about 30.35 minutes



- Demould once cool enough to touch.Garnish with some nuts and cardamon.
